Princess Academy

The Princess Academy is a nine-month program for 5th, 6th and 7th grade girls who learn what it means to be daughters of the King. During this two-semester program, the girls explore the meaning of Honor, Strength, Dignity, Purity and Courage through various activities, field trips, guest speakers, and Bible studies. With the help of small group leaders, the girls learn what to “put feet to the Gospel” and practically live out their faith.
The Princess Academy began in 2001 not long after one of our volunteers overheard three young girls (ages ten, eleven, and twelve) discussing what they believed to be the optimum age to have their first baby. “Thirteen!” was the age they all agreed on. When encouraged to wait until they are older, more mature and have a husband, the girls responded, “Why would we want to do that…?” and cited several reasons why marriage before motherhood was not a viable option for them. We launched our abstinence-based program, The Princess Academy, to give the girls an exciting, wholesome, and life-giving perspective of marriage and family.
